  • 1.75 cups heavy cream
  • 1.25 cups whole milk
  • 0.75 cups sugar
  • 0.125 teaspoons fine sea salt
  • 1 tablespoons vanilla extract

Preparation Steps
  1. Pour 1 cup of the cream into a saucepan and add the sugar and salt. If using a vanilla bean, scrape the seeds into the mixture and add the vanilla pod.
  2. Warm the mixture over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add the remaining cream, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk to combine and chill.
  3. Remove the vanilla pod, whisk again, and pour into an ice cream maker. Churn following the manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.
