  • 0.5 cup cremini mushrooms cleaned and sliced
  • 0.5 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce spaghetti sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon frozen basil
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup crackers for serving

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and cook sliced onion for 3 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and mushrooms; cook until mushrooms are tender.
  4. Add ground beef and season with salt, pepper, oregano, and basil; cook until meat is browned.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce and cook for 3 minutes.
  6. Grease a round 8-inch baking dish with butter.
  7. Spread cream cheese evenly over the bottom of the dish.
  8. Spread the cooked meat mixture over the cream cheese, then top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  10. Serve warm with crackers.
