Preparation Steps
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a cupcake pan with liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together cake flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat softened butter and sugar until creamy.
- Add eggs one at a time and mix well after each addition.
- Mix in milk, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and lemon zest.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
- Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full with batter.
- Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely before frosting.
