  • 0.33 cup feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon coriander
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne
  • 0.25 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon dried mint
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 4 pieces pita breads (about 6 inch diameter)
  • optional dip: tzatziki
  • lemon wedges for serving

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, feta, garlic, olive oil, parsley, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cumin, coriander, cayenne, cinnamon, and dried mint. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well combined. Shape the mixture into 8 equal small patties.
  2. Cut each pita bread in half to create pockets. Stuff each pita half with two meat patties and any additional desired vegetables or toppings.
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Lightly oil the skillet if needed. Cook the stuffed pitas for 4-5 minutes on each side until crispy and cooked through, making sure to sear the open side of each meat patty.
  4. Serve hot with lemon wedges and optional tzatziki dip.

Notes

Feel free to add fresh vegetables like lettuce, tomatoes, or onions for extra flavor and crunch.
